The Top 7 FREE WordPress Plugins



Mailchimp provides email and marketing campaign services to keep your customers up to date on the latest and greatest from you and your business. Many of our clients love Mailchimp and there is a fantastic WordPress plugin that also integrates with many of our other favorites like WooCommerce and Gravity Forms. This plugin provides a sign up form that lets website visitors sign up easily to your Mailchimp lists so you can send them updates too! It doesn’t hurt that they offer a free plan to start, with budget-friendly plans for those with a larger subscriber list.


WordFence Security

WordFence is a security plugin for WordPress that does it all. It keeps your WordPress install safe from hackers, scans your website to check for vulnerabilities, alerts you when something may be going wrong and provides some great tools to repair and monitor your site. Even if you don’t want to pay for the premium features, the free ones are worth having. Another popular plugin for security is Jetpack, which is built by the creators of WordPress as well.



WooCommerce is one of the leading ecommerce solutions on the market today. With its free price tag, incredible support and ever-expanding collection of extensions and themes it’s not hard to see why. Extensions for stats, coupons, shipping, payments, social media, taxes and a whole lot more make WooCommerce an incredibly flexible platform for any small to mid-size online retailer.

This is a developer favorite for sure! Advanced Custom Fields allows us to build out custom pages structured in ways that make it easy for our clients to understand and see exactly what content is needed to fill out sections of a page. Unfortunately you need a developer to fully utilize its features but it’s by far one of our favorites!



MemberPress is the go-to when you want to manage members with your website. They make it a lot easier to provide a way for users to sign up, pay for subscriptions and access member-only content. They even let you create and use coupons, integrate with some popular payment gateways and provide some reporting on your members!

Gravity Forms

There are A LOT of form-building plugins out there, but Gravity Forms is definitely our pick when it comes to form builders. It integrates very well with other plugins and makes it incredibly easy for clients to build and customize their own forms. It can be a bit pricey, but if you need to build complex forms that could benefit from any one of their 30 form field options, it is worth it.

Yoast SEO

SEO is a major industry moving very quickly in complex ways. But what is most important about SEO is building a foundation for your website to succeed authentically, and Yoast SEO does just that for you. It provides feedback about your content, title and meta descriptions. It even allow you to preview what your content will look like on Google, which is pretty cool. They provide even more features if you get the premium version, and they have tons of SEO resources to help improve your sites rankings.
