Our friends at PASA, Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, came to us needing a complete refresh of their brand and website. Their logo and site were dated, no longer representing the community that they created throughout the years. The logo was the first project to tackle. We wanted to pull the logo out of the ‘90s and into the present while still maintaining their nod to agriculture and sustainability.
After a few rounds of revisions and collaboration, we achieved a bold but organic logo. The strong typeface along with the hand-drawn icon conveys the importance of environmentally-regenerative and community-focused food systems.
Our next and most extensive area of focus was the PASA website. Their previous design was not community focused nor streamlined for functionality. After extensive research into PASA’s wants and needs, our first step was to prepare a new site map to use as our guide for simplicity and organization.
PASA was active on social media, but their site did not provide engaging content that could inspire a user. Our goal was to develop a homepage that easily showcased PASA while telling the story of their organization. We wanted to highlight events, interesting facts and history, and valuable resources for the farming community to utilize. Our prototypes worked through these issues while allowing PASA to see our vision.
During our design process, we revamped their business directory, calendar, and news by developing a filter and search feature. This ensures easy usability. Along with adding those features, we reorganized the regional hubs to increase community involvement in specific locations. By the end of our partnership with PASA, we had carefully crafted a content management system, responsive design, clean crafted code and a custom developed over-all brand shown through a new logo and website.
